Subject: [CR] =?iso-8859-1?q?=93DOWN_=26_DIRTY=94_VINTAGE_PARTS_FOR_SALE?=

A recent somewhat unplanned vintage velo purchase has resulted in my stripping said bike of the vast majority of its components for subsequent replacement. Unlike every other previous offer of items for sale that I have posted to the CR List, in this instance I have made minimal if any effort to “clean up” the parts in question (...if I needed to inspect a bearing race or such to determine “usable” condition, it may have been necessary for me to clean off some grease in the process - but other than that, these bits are pretty much “untouched” unless otherwise noted). So, PLEASE BE FOREWARNED: the vast majority of these parts still appear to exhibit every bit of road grime and gunk that has ever touched their surface - and my ever so modest pricing reflects same (...along with a strong desire to see everything here just go away).

Please correspond directly through my public email address of rsb000(AT)hotmail.com. All inquiries will be handled on a first come, first served basis. If you have any question as to whether an item is still available for sale, PLEASE CHECK FIRST WITH THE FOLLOWING WOOL JERSEY LINK (http://tinyurl.com/387jbp) as I will be marking items "SALE PENDING" when someone agrees to their purchase and then mark them as "SOLD" upon actual receipt of payment.

All prices quoted herein do not include shipping and/or insurance which will be done at cost. I would be happy to aggregate shipping expenses on multiple items destined for the same physical mailing address where practicable. I accept payment by PayPal, BidPay, cashier's check, money order, or well concealed cash (...mailed at your own risk). Your satisfaction is guaranteed to the extent that you are welcome to return all or part of any purchase for a full refund of monies not to include shipping and/or insurance provided that said merchandise is returned to me in a reasonably timely fashion and that it is in substantially the same condition as when I first sent it out to you (...please let me know in advance of your intentions should this prove to be the case).

HEADSET:

Tange Falcon - threaded headset - 25.4 mm (24 TPI) English thread - chrome plated steel - sixteen 5/32” ball bearings with metal retainers ... [Used - fairly nice condition from a cosmetic standpoint - lower head race is showing signs of wearing through its hardened plating whereas all other bearing surfaces appear fine - maybe this headset works, and maybe it does not - if nothing else, it is certainly still good enough to salvage bits and pieces for maintenance spares] - $2.00

STEM:

Sakae Ringyo (SR) Custom - aluminum alloy - 22.2 mm quill - 26.0 mm size clamp - 100 mm length - single bolt non-quick release ... [Used - no ugly scratches or nicks, but this component is in desperate need of a good polishing - Allen fitting on the chrome plated stem bolt shows evidence of chamfering at the hands of a ham fisted bike wrench] - $5.00

HANDLEBARS:

Sakae Ringyo (SR) Custom Road Champion - aluminum alloy with logo etchings - traditional non-anatomic profile - 26.0 mm clamp sizing - 39 cm C-t-C / 120 mm reach / 145 mm drop ... [Used - generally good condition with only minor evidence of scratching in the exposed center section of the bars] - $7.00

CHAIN:

Sedis Sedisport Delta - 1/2" x 3/32" (12.7 mm x 2.38 mm) narrow profile - "noire" or black finish finish - bushingless design - chamfered plates with inner floating link - Delta hardened pins ... [Used - cosmetically very good condition - a full and uncut 114 links - at 24 inches in length this chain measures less than 1/32 of an inch longer than standard] - $2.00

HUBS / RIMS:

Campagnolo Nuovo Tipo - quick release rear hub - large flange design without lube port - loose ball bearings - 36h model 1267 rear hub (122 mm spacing) - 1.370” x 24 TPI English freewheel thread ... [Used - one of my favorite hubs from this era what with its impressive looking round holes - from a cosmetic standpoint, this hub is in very nice condition without evidence of nicks or scratches, but it could use with a good clean and polish - additionally, I would be inclined to dismantle it for inspection if not outright rebuild as it does not spin to my personal preference and standard (...I have no history on this hub, so maybe its just the fact that the grease has simply calcified inside - you’ll never know until you look) - PLEASE NOTE: quick release mechanism is NOT included] - $25.00

M. M. Atom quick release skewers - chrome plated steel - pre 1978 non C.P.S.C. compliant beaded flat handle style quick release mechanisms with conical adjusters - 100 mm spacing (front) / 122 to 126 mm spacing (rear) ... [Used - actually, these look like they will clean up to look very nice - chrome plated ends are unscuffed - the front QR handle appears to have been custom bent to a slight curve (...which was something I remember doing with more than one pair of skewers back in the day) - one of the better looking pieces removed from this bike] - $10.00

FREEWHEEL:

Maeda / SunTour Pro-Compe - Gold - 14/21 (14-15-17-19-21) 5-speed - two notch body - 1.370” x 24 TPI English thread - four notch slip-fit cogs with spacers / 14 tooth cog threaded and serves as a lock - Gold colored cogs with Black faceplate and body ... [Used - would appear to be a fairly low mileage example with precious little wear on the actual cog teeth - 14 tooth threaded cog is likely a replacement as it is Silver in color and not Gold as are the remainder - should still be able to provide many useful miles] - $5.00

BRAKES:

MAFAC Racer brakeset including calipers with pads, bolts, transverse cables, straddle hangers, levers, and hoods (originally white, now tan with age) - dual pivot center pull alloy calipers - early to mid 1970’s style with MAFAC “RACER” logo etched into the face of the leading arm of the caliper and no wheel guides - fixed bridge / large stirrup (53.5 to 68 mm drop) long reach - Racing Dural Course 121 levers - traditional non-aero cable routing - integrated cable adjuster barrels - exposed alloy bodies with gum style half hoods ... [Used - while they are most certainly functional, these babies will never win a beauty contest - the chrome plating on the arm pivot bolts, eye-bolts, transverse anchor bolts, etc. is simply gone - while the aluminum bits are not marked up, they are all in dire need of a good cleaning and polishing - the hoods on the brake levers have started to dry out although they have not cracked yet - there is no evidence of scaring to the lever blades themselves but one of them is rubbing inside the alloy body and this will need to be remedied if I were to use them] - $10.00

PEDALS / TOE CLIPS:

Sakae Ringyo (SR) SP-100 BL - quill style pedals - Cr/Mo spindles - alloy spindle housings with Bblack anodized aluminum alloy cages - no integrated toe strap loops - 9/16" x 20 TPI thread ... [Used - for all intents and purposes, these were built to be Campagnolo 1037/a Superleggero clones - these pedals did NOT come from the same source as these other parts - they were thoroughly dismantled, inspected, and rebuilt with new bearings and grease less than 500 miles ago - typical light scuffing to the cages which has been touched up cosmetically with semi-gloss black paint in an attempt to match the anodizing - dust caps were missing when I acquired these and I have modified a set of black plastic furniture end plugs as replacements (...hey, it sounds goofy, but they don’t look too bad or weigh much and they most definitely keep road debris from fouling those new bearings) - a fairly nice set of “ride ‘em” pedals for the price] - $10.00

Christophe Special model 50s toe clips - size Large (65 mm long) - chrome plated steel ... [Used - late 1970’s to early 1980’s vintage having the later block style logo at the apex of the straps - again, these are not from the same bike as most other parts being offered herein - very nice condition with only those typical markings from use but no scrapes - good chrome plating] - $5.00

SADDLE:

San Marco Concor Supercorsa - thermoplastic shell with Black leather covering - chromed steel rails - original late 1970’s “CONCOR S. MARCO SUPERCORSA” logos located on the side skirts along with “CONCOR” inset at the rear ... [Used - typical light scuffs at the nose and the rear corners, but no rips or tears - nasty looking rusty rails toward the nose of the saddle (...clean them as best you can and then paint them with silver Rustoleum or the like) - perfectly usable for a daily rider] - $5.00

SEAT POST:

Sakae Ringyo (SR) Laprade - seat post - one piece cast 6061-T6 alloy construction - fluted shaft with “limit line” - one bolt micro-adjusting clamp - 25 mm offset - 165 mm x 27.2 mm - model CT-P5 Laprade ... [Used - minimal insertion marks, none of which extend above the “limit line” - 130 mm of usable post as measured to where your seat rails would clamp - dirty with oxidization evident in the Allen head fitting of the seat post adjustment bolt] - $5.00

OTHER BITS / ACCESSORIES:

Huret - top tube brake cable clips (3) - "open window" hoop style - chrome plated steel - model 1810 ... [Used - French “bike boom” era chrome plating being what it is, there is the inevitable evidence of oxidization to be found. But after running a fingernail over their surface, I am inclined to believe that these might clean up quite nicely given a bit of effort - includes original and proper mounting nuts and screws] - $5.00 for the trio

Campagnolo - dropout adjuster screws (2) - 25 mm length - adjuster bolt / spring / plastic wing nut … [Used - light evidence of oxidization that should clean up completely - one adjuster screw is ever so slightly bent (...although this will be really easy to correct in this case - and if it was bent too far to be salvageable, I would not bother offering it for sale) - late style plastic wing nut fittings] - $2.00 AFA umbrella pump clip ... [Used - very nice condition with solid chrome plating - needs only a little polishing] - $2.00

Unknown / Generic - water bottle cage clamps (2) - spring steel - mounting nut and screws ... [Used - evidence of light oxidization (...primarily on only one spot of one clamp) - nothing that a good degreasing and polish with steel wool would not remedy] - $2.00

Unknown / Generic - brake cable hangers (2 - 1 front / 1 rear) - chrome plated steel ... [Used - front hanger is intended to be fitted in conjunction with an English or Italian threaded headset - rear hanger uses integrated seat post bolt mounting (...both the bolt and nut are included) - chrome loss in several locations but otherwise perfectly functional - includes all of the proper cable end adjusters and fittings] - $2.00
