Subject: [CR]fixie thing, a fad?

Hi all,

As for the fixie thing being a fad, I don't think it is or it's going to be a fad as long as rock'n'roll is a fad. I was riding a fixed gear bike t wenty years ago in Toronto traffic (in fact it was a '72 Hugh Porter track bike) and now I ride a fixed gear in Montreal traffic. The only difference is now I have a brake on the front. Wisdom does come with age :) Old steel is always the best choice to build a fixie around. After a bike has been st ripped of all the mass-produced gears and other parts deemed non-essential one wants what's left to have some soul. That can only be had with hand-bui lt steel.

Regards to everyone,
