Sam Cotten was featured as a framebuilder in the Hot Tubes section of Bicycle Guide sometime in the late 80s. Glenn McLeay, who was one of New Zealand's best track racers at the time, brought one back from the US around 1989. My understanding is that Cotten started out by importing frames built by Hurlow, and began building them himself a few years later. I think John Pergolizzi might know fer sure. DB Ak, NZ

I have heard Sam Cotton described as a builder and also know he had this relationship with Hurlow. Sam was an actor and other things as well but I wonder, was he an actual builder himself or not? I spoke with him a few times maybe 5-7 years ago but this never came up. I think he still lives in Soucal.
