a few good tricks i have encountered are, one , be sure to cut some blocks and tape in place for front and rear dropouts, two , place any acccessories like skewers or pedals in a sturdy box and place under bottom bracket to help suspend frame in box .three, make a few triangles out of cardboard and tape. the width of the box, and place strategically to help prevent any crushing and last if the wheels are to be shipped in same box as frame use zip ties to secure to tubes that are very well protected eg. pipe insulation. i only had one bike arrive ruined from poor packing but its not a good feeling. kevin ruberg howell nj
