Subject: [CR]Has anyone come across this issue on ebay before?

Hi folks,

I am sure that the seller would not mind me raising this issue on this list. I bought a packet of headbadge rivets on ebay yetserday - to refix the Carpenter badge and a Raleigh badge at some point. Seemed like a good idea as I am not sure I like the look of pop-rivets.

I went for BIN and got an invoice - the seller does not take Paypal and wanted an IMO or cash. He has a 100% feedback record. I was happy enough with sending cash (we were only talking about $6-7).

Anyway, this morning I got the following message from the seller:

"Paul, PLEASE DON'T SEND PAYMENT. ebay has informed me that they won't allow me to take cash or list cash as a method of payment. I have paid cash myself to sellers from other countries where the exchange varies day to day, and I thought it to be OK. I don't want to deal with people outside of the US anyway. I will not sell to anyone outside the US since ebay has removed my listing for the afore mentioned infraction. I can't beleave ebay read my description, and put an end to my evil attempt to prevent paypal fees from being paid. I think that some do stupid jerk turned me in to ebay, and I can't figure why. The price of these actions for the rivets is so petty, many people have sent cash, and my feedback record for the past 7 or 8 years would let the average person with any brains see that I am good for the money, in any form. Still some wise guy has put an end to my trust and "I" am not going to take any chances dealing internationaly. Please except my appology."

Has anyone run into this before? Very weird!

Now I must find another source for suitable rivets - any ideas?
