Hi all,

The 1963 Cinelli SC, serial number 1193, that I mentioned on list a couple weeks ago has arrived. It is everything I expected. I'm very pleased. It is in remarkably well preserved condition for a 45 year old bike. Original paint, decals and most parts. New photos of the bike (or at least the various parts) as received can be seen here:

Some features:

* Campagnolo Record rear derailleur with Spence Wolf "Alpine" modification (thanks to the several folks who identified this for me) * Campagnolo front derailleur with built in cable stop * Mephisto "A Bloc" rims w/Campy hubs ("no record" hubs I suspect -- need to clean off the grime to be sure) * Cinelli Milano steel stem * TA Criterium triple crankset * Mafac Top 63 brakes * Balilla brake levers

It is my intent to keep this bike as original as reasonably possible. For example, I will not re-chrome or re-paint. Mostly I will clean, polish and re-lube. But there is one particular challenge about which I am uncertain what to do. I would appreciate some advice/suggestions about my options for treating the seat lug. Most of the chrome is gone and the underlying steel is rusting. I'd like to both protect it and make it look better without actually re-chroming.

Oh, if anyone has access to the Spence Wolf/Cupertino sales records, I'd love to know what it says about this bike -- sale date, buyer, components, etc.
