John,

I believe you may need a VAR #187-B

This tool perfectly fits my old "ATOM" 3-speed 1/8" freewheels, but I believe they were also commonly used for moped freewheels.

It is very large indeed. Measuring the distance between the prongs:

inner diameter = 24.0 mm outer diameter = 38.0 mm

width of each prong is 5 mm

If the entire tool must sit within a deep recess on your freewheel, the outer diameter of the complete tool is 40 mm.

you can see a catalog image here: http://sheldonbrown.com/var/pages/var0028.html

Need to get an old (50's vintage) J. Moyne 3 speed freewheel off a hub. It needs a 2 prong type tool, and the prongs are quite wide compared to the standard SunTour or Regina tool. I eyeball it at about 35mm prong to prong. If anyone has one to sell, or to rent if you don't want to part with it, please drop me a note off-list.
