Having been so fortunate as to travel in Italy for several weeks last year, I can tell you that, at least in Pisa, Florence, and towns in that region, interesting bikes are hiding in plain sight all over the place. A Cinelli Super Corsa from maybe the 50's--with flat bars and a milk crate atop the rear rack; Wolsits, Frejus, Ideor similarly outfitted--these were all in Pisa. In Florence we were waiting to cross a street at afternoon rush hour, saw a tall older man approaching on a yellow bike--a yellow Colnago Master about ten years old with flat bars! I could go on and on but you get the drift.....

Angel sends at least five emails to me a week it seems. He usually includes a picture of the bike and where known, the city in Italy where the bikes he sends were made. It is truly amazing that he can find so many new steel makes to add to the guide. It just goes to show you that there are hundreds of builders who never get their products out of their country. Norris has mentioned many made in France of that ilk. The British bike industry was just as prolific, with many makes most of us have never heard of, let alone seen. I'm sure the same can be said for many other countries. A public thanks to all of you who send me information on builders for the guide. Thanks. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
