beautiful bike! Does´nt look to have been ridden that much either. I´ve got one too, exactly the same but mine is SLX, built up with Campagnolo in stead of Mavic. Yours is definitely a team bike from 1988/89 I´d say. Min e was built in the winter 89/90 and has the same features as yours includin g a Cinelli Spoiler bb. http://chainedrevolution.com/CS/photos/michele_francesconi/category1019.asp x

There were several teams sponsored by Bottecchia in those years, most famou s of course the ADR-Bottecchia Team which Greg Lemond rode for in 89. The Humo team seems to have been a small Belgian based teams that raced mos tly on their home ground. But there was another Italian team in 88, called Malvor-Bottecchia-Sidi, that used Bottecchia Squadra´s with Mavic equipme nt and they had riders like Silvano Contini, Mario Beccia, Gianni Faresin i n their ranks and Helmut Wechselberger who actually won the Tour de Suisse that year. The Malvor team in different setups used Bottecchias from 1983 until 1990. Earlier there was also the Hoonved-Bottecchia team and in 1979 Beppe Saronn i won the Giro d´Italia for SCIC-Bottecchia. I can tell you that there´s no point mailing Bottecchia since it´s a to tally different manufacturer today, situated in Padua. The old Bottecchias were made by the Reparto Corsa of Teodoro Carnielli in Vittorio Veneto and they stopped building some- where around the mid 90ies.
