The "Alps" printers are dye sublimation machines. Look on Wikipedia for a discussion of their strengths and weaknesses. You should be able to find some Service Bureaus (especially in your neck of the woods) that'll have one.

Good ones will do a *very* nice job...beautiful colors, wide gamut, whites and even some metallics...perfect for this task.

Thanks for mentioning this 'Alps' printer. Their website seems to indicate Alps printers (like cambio corsa changers?) may not currently be availalble. A vendor called Micro Parts & Supplies seems to sell supplies. Are these true 'laser' printers ? If not, would they do a nice job than the 'InkJet' discussed here ??

I wonder if there are any service providers using these, that could help with such a project ?? I'm gonna check with some of my graphic contacts here in LA
