Subject: [CR]Removing anodizing

Mark Fulton wrote to forget the oven cleaner. Go to http://www.jestcoproducts.com click on "Instructions" scroll down and get a bottle of "Anodize Remover."

I have to concur with enthusiasm. I have used the Easy Off stuff and it is best described as vile and dangerous. If you leave anything in it too long it is a disaster with staining to remove that is as tough as the anodizing.

The Jestco product, mixed with water, merely sits there and bubbles (I use it in an old plastic tub) and then you reach in with your rubber gloves and safety goggles on, just in case, and rinse and go over very quickly with 0000 steel wool and rinse again. Now you are ready to polish.

Some of the best stuff on the market.it works well and is reasonably priced. If I recall the shipping is reasonable, too.
