Mar, Andrew and all...

I use "Aircraft Paint Stripper" available at most any auto parts store or paint supply house. Available in either spray-on or brush-on. I believe the brand is "Mar-Hyde". I've never tried to use this to strip anodizing, but it sure works for everything else and it is designed for aluminum. I used to use oven cleaner before I found this stuff... http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?categorycode=3272 Be sure to get the "Aircraft" version.

Hey Andrew et al,

Forget the oven cleaner. Go to http://www.jestcoproducts.com click on "Instructions" scroll down and get a bottle of "Anodize Remover." (Easy to remember.) 16 oz. bottle, part #797 for $12.00 (Easy to use: dry powder you mix with warm water.) I've used this stuff, it really works. Parts come out in minutes ready to paint or polish and/or clear coat. Or leave alone. Just do it outside and don't breathe the fumes.
