Larry,

I have a Mondia from the late '60s. I think your guess is correct. After I got mine I looked at serial numbers and they seemed to be all over the place--the later the more so.

I'm guessing my bike is from about '68 because it came with all the original equipment--all Campy except the brakes--and the rear derailleur is one of the undated Campy Nuovo Records.

Its ser. no. is 146343.
