Emanuel,

Mario had a few of his own "bits" made. The top tube cable guides were d esigned by Mario and stamped locally from SS. The chainstay bridge barre l was also custom made for Mario by Frank Appel of San Diego.

The Stainless Steel seat binder bolt I'm familier with was made for Rexa rt (owner Bill Recht of NJ); I don't know by whom. I think there may be two versions of this bolt, in that some are stamped "Rexart/Medici" and are common on Medici bicycles. I just pinched one from a Medici in my bo neyard last week. There may be a "Confente" stamped bolt; but I'm not su re about that. One of the Confente owners can probably confirm that poss ibility.

I corresponded with Andrew Hague earlier this year.

He manufactured the braze-ons for my '77-'78 Bernard Macklam (see wooljersey) and I hoped to get a frame decal from him to replace the worn one on my bike.

I'll write to hm and ask about the Confente bolt thing. Hague has been out of the bike-related business for a long time.

Wasn't Confente reputed to have made his own distinctive braze-ons, or are those likely of Hague origin too?
