Subject: [CR]RE: Alchieri Pogliaghi restoration questions

Received the Alchieri Pogliaghi #6907 from Italy a few days ago. I have been admiring the frame for a few days now, the construction and lug work are outstanding, Sante spent more time and detail work on this frame compared to my newer Pogliaghi #9736. The little bit of history I know about this bike is that it was a club bike in Milan for many years. At some time (probably 80's) it was painted and Alchieri decals were applied. No idea who Alchieri is/was, but the seller also had an Alchieri engraved seatpost.

I am seeking advice from the list regarding dating this frame and seeing if anyone has decals from this era I can use as a guide to make new ones.

On Dating the frame I am thinking early to mid 60's; 1960-1965. I welcome any/all comments on a more accurate date. Regarding the decals,Tam has graciously sent me pictures of his decals on his beautiful Pogliaghi track bike. Our frames SN# are 63 bikes apart, so I feel this is period correct for this frame. Unfortunately Tam's decals are in poor condition making a lot of guess work on recreating them, If any of you have a cleaner set I would very much want to see them! I have included pictures of my bike and a few of Tam's decals so you can see what I am looking for.
