Regarding the Yellow Colnago,

I have one exactly like it. Same crown and everything. I call the few bi kes like this I've seen (this makes 3 now) a 1969 model. If one traces t he known refinements backwards from well known bikes and their dates; bi kes detailed like this (3 small cutouts in lugs, holes drilled in BB in a circular pattern, pre investment cast fork crown) end up about 1969 or thereabouts.

Nice bike for a redo.

The braze-on shift bosses, cable guides, water bottle bosses, and rear d er

cable stop could have been added later, which would argue for earlier. The

clamp cable routing on the bottom of the downtube certainly tends to mak e one

think it is earlier than 78. I don't know when Colnago started using b raze-on

cable routing. Below is the last version of dating I found in one of C huck

Schmidt's posts. I don't know who to attribute the compilation. If t he

braze-ons are original, then I would narrow it to 77. Lou Deeter, Temp orarily in
