Group---- I am the owner (by default, actually) of a Sauvage Porteur bike that is still in France--- it has not been tainted by any association of/with LeJuene-- it is just pure Sauvage--- and obviously worth a lot more that I had originally envisioned because of it's newfound collectibility. I thought from the first time that I saw it that it was a fun, well constructed, old bike with a present day politically incorrect name--- or at least headbadge. (Nobody has mentioned that that little guy is carrying a spear!) I agree 100% with Jerry Moos' prior post on the subject.

Sauvage, of course, means Savage--- and probably was intended to show the strength and other admirable qualities of the marque. Along the same line as Peugeot utilizing a Lion as their trademark, of which I am also certain that some animal rights enthusiasts would currently find objectionable. It probably was from the same era as Sammy Battistone's Sambo's Pancake House, and probably imploded just as fast.

Please do not innundate me with offers for this item --- it is not for sale! Trade for a tall Herse, perhaps?

cheers ;-) Nelson Miller // Seattle, WA // USA
