After remembering that book, I sort of got a Reg Harris bug and did a Google and I see this:

I was deeply impressed reading this so many years ago when I received my copy from Reg himself. I THINK it was 1978ish at the New York bike show. (Do any of you industry folk remember when that was? For some reason I cannot recall the details. I know, I know...)

It's a fascinating book from many points of view.
