I've just installed a Rally rear derailleur on a 1969 Schwinn Paramount I'm putting together. There appears to be a "design flaw" with the derailleur in that the pully cage will hit the rear drop out even when it's properly adjusted for the smallest cog. It looks as though the chain needs to be short enough so that the pully cage is nowhere near taking up all the chain slack it is capable of.
I don't have the original installation instructions so I'm looking for some help from the list. Anyone seem this before?
