Relative newcomer to the list here. I'm also a complete novice in bike restoration, so please bear with me!
I'm starting to fix up an all French (late 70s?) Motobecane mixte for my wife. Much of the bike is in pretty good shape, but paint is missing from the frame in spots, and there's some rust in its place. There's also some rust much of the chrome.
If I want to try to transform this bike into a reasonably attractive town bike, what are my options for dealing with the rust and rough spots?
