Selling a set of 34 year old wheels ... from a 1973 touring Paramount. Campy Record large flange 36 hole hubs have all locknuts dated CAM 73, spaced for 5 speed. Rims are stamped WEINMANN and then 27"x 1 1/4" on either side of the valve holes. Both wheels have been well cleaned inside and out (except for under the tires), and both hubs have been repacked with green grease. Front spins well with just a slight hitch ... maybe at 85% quality still. Rear is set just a hair loose in order to spin well, so it is more like 75% of new quality. New cones and bearings with a bit of the "polish in the races for a few miles" trick would likely make them better. Original flat lever quick releases show a bit of oxidation on levers and end caps, but function fine, of course. The stainless spokes look great, but there is minor oxidation on the nipple ends. I think a great deal of this can be removed with brass wool, or perhaps steel wool, but keep it off the rims as the aluminum will scratch. Aluminum is not shiny like new anymore, but they still look nice. Some people will want to polish the aluminum, while others will prefer them as is. $110 for the pair, includes essentially new tires, and tubes as shown. Add on for exact FedEx shipping cost only.
