My last retail bike job (1972) I worked for a fellow who bought lots of left over bikes. One of the bikes I built was this very model. I recall it not being a folding bike but a travel bike which was short coupled and had a long curved stem. It was equiped just like a standard model but with a compact frame and long curving stem.It came with a bag that held the frame separate from the wheels. I recall a QR for the seat post and maybe the same for the stem. Gitane was pretty interesting in that they had a very complete line featuring Interclub models of track bikes, Racing bikes,Tandems and even touring bikes with steel cranks etc and then an upper level model with alloy parts and Reynolds tubing. We had quite a boat load of white Tour de France models that sat for quite a while even though they were a good value($225). One day one of the mechanics (college art student) talked the boss into changing the handlebar tape to red or blue to add some color and like magic they all went out the door.
