I think I have one, it's a white GIOS Torino Professional with blue panels and GT pantographed on the seatpost and big chainring, but it has no serial number on the bottom bracket shell or anywhere else on the frame, so I have always believed it to be a fake, a good fake mind you, but a fake nevertheless.

I don't know a lack of serial number would constitute it a fake. i have had 3 Gios', 2 still in my possession, only 1 had serial number. btw-it was the professional model(which i no longer have). but neither my aerodynamic nor early 80's super record have any sort of number on them that i've been able to find.
as for not getting "respect", i'm not so sure when panto'd seatposts are going for almost $200 on ebay. i for one have really dug Gios', maybe it's the color since i didn't race back-in-the-day, but when i got back into cycling about 7-8 years ago, i remember seeing a vintage super record at the local shop and falling in love with it. I told myself then "i want one of those". now i do :D
just waiting for Jack ;^) to get me a set of silver medallions for my fork crown before i send it off for a respray.
