As to those who said that once a buyer threatens you with negative feedback, you may never satisfy them ... I say not true. My wife, who has sold hundreds of cell phones on and off ebay, never making more than 30% on any sale and often only $10 when all is factored in, has often turned outraged buyers around with good customer service. They usually end up leaving positive feedback as evidenced by her nearly perfect ratings. One buyer actually returned a different phone that turned out to be a broken counterfeit and not the serial numbered phone that we sent him. Not only did we not accuse him of anything despite the pictures and proof we sent him back, but we tried to "save his face" by proposing that he might have had the phone switched by someone else before he returned it. He returned good feedback despite the fact that we merely returned his fake phone and refused to refund his money.

Yes, it is wrong to threaten someone with bad feedback the moment something goes bad with a purchase, but it is also wrong to say you'll do one thing and then not follow through. Neither offense deserves the death penalty however, and I hope this will be resolved. It seems easy enough to do.
