Dear Group, I no sooner posted my earlier message about my friend Charlie Dixon than it occurred to me that some folks on the list might wish to contact him regarding their own bicycles. I should say that Charlie works on my bikes as a personal favor to me. In all honesty, he is a little burned out at the moment, and I have to coax him quite a bit to take on another of my projects. I have often suggested to him that he restore bicycles for a living, or, at the very least, as a sideline. His answer is always an emphatic "No." When and if he ever decides to offer his services to the public, I will be happy to post his phone number here on the list. One of the morals to be drawn, I think, has probably been learned by many on the list by now: when one finds an individual willing to spend long hours working on an old bicycle for you, he is worth is weight in gold.
