Hi All,

A colleague of mine said he had some old bike parts that he and his dad have had in their drawer for years. Knowing I was into old bikes and eBay he's asked me for a bit of help.

I have to admit, when he showed me, I was quite stunned by the age of the gear these guys had AND THAT IT IS ALL NOS. They were in the bike business years ago.

So what he has asked me is if I could list some of this gear but to be honest, my era is 80's, this stuff is 20's, 30's, 40's 50's NOS still in boxes !

I said I would list it on eBay but wouldn't know the values to start at. He, knowing it would be valuable, wanting to know some sort of value.

I also mentioned that if listed properly, the eBay market would value the gear correctly. He was perhaps a little weary of this idea.

There was a fair bit of this gear so I have taken two items as examples and have said I would get indicative values with a view to listing on eBay.

Example 1) there is a 1929 Super Champion, Tour de France indexed gear / derailleur set, NOS in box, all cables etc. (Like I said, out of my 80's Colnago knowledge zone)

Example 2) Simplex gear, NOS Juy 51; see attached instructions that I have scanned that came out of the box today, all parts in box;

So I'm looking for assistance in values to assist my colleague to make the decision to sell this gear. I'm not looking for offers or trying to seek buyers, just perhaps assistance as to how I can ascertain values for this type of gear, then if he sees value in selling, I guess I will help him list them.

Perhaps there is a specialist in this sort of gear from the list that could contact me to further document what he has and we can take it from there.

Thanks
