Subject: [CR]My new frame has arrived

Sunday, I took delivery on my new Randonneur frame, a custom made by Ed Litton who has a shop in Point Richmond, CA. The CR website has a page on Ed here:

Ironically, I got a cold, and really felt it sunday afternoon and since picking up the frame I've been napping mostly so I only got as far as installing the headset. Photos are here:

There is a front rack, made by Ed, that goes with the frame that was dropped off late that afternoon but no photos of that yet. I'll be certain to share those once the bike is completely built.

The build components are:

600 EX headset Zephyr Crankset Shimano 105 ders. Ultegra 36 hole hub rear, and a Schmidt 32 hole front built with MA 2 rims Ultegra 8spd bar end shifters Nitto bars (special order from Jitensha for bars that match the cinelli 64 bars) Nitto Pearl stem Brooks B17 Champion Special, Honey Custom made front rack Berthoud 2586 front bag Honjo fenders Campy NR seat post Shimano Aero brake levers Dia Compe NGC 450 Center Pulls

Some of the parts anyway are timeline valid.

The build was supposed to have included chrome plating of the drop outs and chain stays but staffing and quality control issues at the chrome plater caused issues so in order to have the frame ready for PBP the decision was made to skip that. The front rack was powder coated with 'chrome' colored paint and I must say it really looks nice.

I'm very pleased with the frame and can't wait to ride it. I think Ed did a wondeful job.
