These were mass produced, probably by National (Panasonic), in numbers too great for Jim to have had a hand in building them. The 600 equipment puts it around 1987. Sold them then, anyway.

Ok , so it is just outside the timeline but since it has a Jim Merz sticker

on the chain stay it qualifies as a KOF :-) I just took ownership of a m id

80's Specialized Allez SE bicycle equipped with Shimano 600. San th e skewers

everything is original and in very good condition.

My question is. Did Jim actually build these? Or, was he just the de signer

at this time. The SE has Shimano dropouts while the Allez has C ampy.

What are your opinions of the bike? No pedals so it wi ll go un-ridden until

I score some 600 pedals. Anyone have a pair to s ell? Some skewers too?
