I collect punctured tubes and about twice per year, I sit out on the lanai and patch them, usually takes about an hour to patch 20 or so tubes. I wou ld guess about a 15% throwaway rate with the most common problem that I can't f ix being the stem coming apart from the tube. I don't throw much away. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL USA
