This morning I arrived at was supposed to be a pretty good sized swap meet in New Haven, Ct. Pulled into the parking lot to see almost nobody except the redoubtable Billy Rounds and his friend Jay. One or two other but that was it. Where is everybody? We hung around for awhile as the organizers set up there table. Then some guy in a van drove in and parked close by Billy. Of course Billy was first over and, before the bike was out of the truck, called to me saying "Hey look at this a Sachs." Indeed they guy took out a blue to white fade e richie frame that was just my size. How much? $400. Billy goes offer him three. No. Threefifty, no.....three sevety-five. He took it. GONE. Man what a find. Thanks Billy. Called Richie as soon as I got home and found out it was circa 1982. Has a really nice Peter Weigle re-paint job that has scratches but will clean up beeeeuuutifully. My knew rider has. At that price I'll take ten. Sometime you win sometime you lose....today, at this totally unattended swap, I won. Eddie, been looking for a Sachs to ride, Albert Chappaqua, NY, USA
