Re, Alan Doig's RFI Dave Russell is retired, he is now 73 years old and lives in Slough. He built bikes to order out of his shop in Chalvey, Slough, He was a contemporary of Jack Hearne of Slough and I currently own bikes by Dave Russell and Jack Hearne. Their bikes were skillfully built mostly for local patrons. Dave attended Slough Grammar School and completed an engineering apprenticeship with OMT. Served hi National Service honorably in the RAF. Although he retired some years ago he continued to do some repairs. After the passing of his wife about a year ago Dave finally hung up the torch. Dave says that his frame serial numbers designate the finish or final assembly dates. I should be able to add more later after contacting Dave Russell.
