Great point, in a recent highly-regarded road race at Seven Springs here in Western PA, there was a rather spectacular crash with several injuries. I was rather surprised to hear one of the racers comment on a TV report that "you don't expect this sort of thing in a race of this caliber." The next day I observed a lot worse in the TDF coverage, where it IS more or less expected.
