Dave, et. all: Guerciotti bikes and framesets were sold and distributed through Ten Speed Drive . Yes they were painted here in America. The Paulo decal is in reference to Paulo Guerciotti, one of the racers and founders. Look on the rear brake bridge and see if there is a scripted stamp of 10 Spd Drive. They sold frames and complete bikes. I wish I had kept my old catalogs. Shimano was an option, but you can aim a hair drier on the Shimano decal and remove it, then remove all other Shimano parts.

This one has Shimano 600 components and an ugly "Shimano" in large letters on the top tube. I understand these were painted and sold in the US by 10 Speed Drive Imports, which is indicated by stickers on the bike.

I took it for a short ride after making a few adjustments and it rides very nicely - at least until the tires lose air!

The frame has a lot of trademarks stamped on it; fork crown, BB shell, seatstay ends, brake bridge. The chainstay ends say "Paolo" - something, which doesn't look like "Guerciotti." (Also a sticker with the same name) What might it be?

Are there different models? How do I identify? When was this likely made? Where do I find a serial number?
