Mike & Art That is the same with Delta. I measured out my hard shell case and then weighed it and it came out over size and over weight, so the upcharge would be $150 each way. I decided to go back to my Nashbar nicely padded soft case which comes in under 50lbs so Delta ONLY charges $100 for oversize but not for weight. HOW NICE OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!! I use a hard shell Trico case. Built to take it. Most airlines treat
them
as oversized luggage. Continental charges $80 each way. Alitalia
charges
$150 each way.
