Subject: [CR] FOR SALE: Spence Wolf reproduction brake booster plates for MAFAC calipers

Now available on a one time offer only basis to CR List members, reproducti ons of those nifty brake booster plates pioneered by Spence Wolf of Cuperti no Bike Shop fame (...if you would care for a bit of a history lesson on th ese, please check the CR List archives using the search keywords "Spence" a nd "Wolf" and "MAFAC"). These exacting reproductions are based upon those l ast originals of my own and may be seen using either one of the following l inks:

The brake bridges being offered herein will fit MAFAC Competition, 2000, Ra cer, "S", and GT models of center pull calipers, include detailed instructi ons and all necessary mounting hardware crafted from high grade stainless s teel, are a straightforward "bolt on" application requiring little or no te chnical expertise, and will vastly improve overall braking performance whil e virtually eliminating that notorious squeal often associated with these t ypes of brakes.

This project was originally undertaken to satisfy my own desire to obtain a few sets of these booster plates, but only after searching in vain for nic e originals over the course of several years. Having resigned myself to go so far as having them re-engineered, I was also very careful to have separa te versions made to accommodate both the standard 62 mm sized calipers as w ell as the 63 mm variety having an adjustable center bridge (...Spence’s originals were all produced with 62 mm centers and you had to use a rat tai led file to elongate those holes a bit in order to mount them onto a 63 mm version caliper), so you will need to specify how many of each size you wis h to purchase. These booster plates are being offered at the special indivi dual price of $10.00 USD (...which means that you will need to order two fo r a total of $20.00 USD should you intend to mount one onto both the front and rear brake caliper of a given bike) not to include an additional $6.50 USD which will be required to cover domestic shipping via USPS Priority Mai l with Delivery Confirmation for any reasonable quantity (...domestic insur ance and/or overseas postage will be provided at cost - please inquire in a dvance for rates).

Interested parties should please reply directly and "OFF LIST". This offer is only valid until my supply of reproduction booster plates has been exhau sted - and I have no intention of producing any more at any time in the fut ure unless someone is willing to commit to pre-paying for a minimum run of 100 units at wholesale pricing. While this may be a one time offer, it is n ot necessarily limited to one set per person … HOWEVER … I again reserv e the right to limit and/or reduce in quantity any order that I consider to be conspicuous consumption. In any event, I will not agree to any purchase quantities over that of five pair (...i.e. a total of ten booster plates) until 48 hours have passed from the time of this posting so as to allow tho se who are readers of the CR List in "digest" form to properly weigh in. Ot her than that one caveat, all inquiries will be processed on a "first come / first served" basis to the very best of my abilities.

I would be happy to aggregate shipping expenses on multiple items destined for the same physical mailing address where practicable (...which is precis ely why I held this offer to coincide with those other vintage parts I subm itted for sale to the CR List mere minutes ago). I accept payment by PayPal , BidPay, cashier's check, money order, or well concealed cash (...mailed a t your own risk). Your satisfaction is guaranteed to the extent that you ar e welcome to return all or part of any purchase for a full refund of monies not to include shipping and/or insurance provided that said merchandise is returned to me in a reasonably timely fashion and that it is in substantia lly the same condition as when I first sent it out to you (...please let me know in advance of your intentions should this prove to be the case).
