I have checked in the archives, but was not able to find anything so am hoping that somebody will be able to give me a hand in distinguishing the differences between a few Mafac brake levers that I have picked up recently.
What is the significance, when speaking of brake levers (not calipers!) of having a lever with the periods between the letters, or without the periods? Which of the two is older? Can anybody give me indications as to the approximate vintage of the two version when speaking of the all alloy levers (without hoods or half-hoods). I picked these up from a company that was previously the Italian Mafac distributor (up until about 1980), so they could be 30 years old like they could be 50 years old. Are there other differences that I should be on the look-out for?
