Subject: [CR]NEED HELP ID'ING CINELLI? TRACK BIKE Don Gomez

Hey Guys,

I recently aquired a track frame that was converted to a time trial bike at some point but cant figure out the make , it looks like a cinelli, lugs are all drilled w/ 3 holes(the underside of the lugs as well) , 2 slots in the BB, and the seat stays. So i thought maybe cinelli but couldnt find anything on the registry with serial numbers even close. Serial #'s are stamped on the left side seat tube/top tube lug. The # is 11046. the number 54 is stamped on the BB shell and this is teh seat tube length .

The fork tips and track ends are both Campagnolo . The fork tips are chromed.

Seatpost size is 26.8, I also was thinking maybe Winsor but learned that the post size was 27.2. Was that always the case?Could it be Cinelli reamed out to 26.8?

The frame had braze ons added and a solid paint job-on the back of the seattube there is decal that says spray by Betsy east haddam Conneticut. Peter Weigle?looks like his logo .

The frame also came with a perfect Pista headset, the one with no logo on the outside of the cups. When was this headset in production?

Im including a link to some pictures . Any help is greatly appreciated . I havent been able to find much to go on but honestly just remembered the archives. I'll do some searching here shortly.

One other thing relating to this bike is the previous owner was Don Gomez of New York. I was told by his family that he raced here in the city and also he rode into his 70's . Does anyone know this man?care to share , pay homage to an obvious lover of the sport and the machines.

heres a link to the frame on Wool jersey http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/bmasterflex/track+bike/

I just realized I didnt take any pictures of the entire frame.

Thanks for the millionth time
