Lynn's approach works for me. Puddings have themes. Passions need not. My cycle collecting is driven by enthusiasm only. But I do prefer English and French machines. Prefer not to buy anything that needs repainting. And would never buy anything to have alone, it has to be the size and the condition to ride. I admit I like machines that have associated "cool kit" as well and team associations. When I bought my Motobecane Team Champion, a co-worker, without pausing, said "what cool jersey do you get to wear with that?" He's got me figured out pretty well I think!

And I still haven't found a BIC wool jersey for that Moto...
