That's a B15, so maybe Brooks continued using the oval logo on those past 1955. Come to think of it, was the B15 eventually just discontinued? It was a less expensive saddle than the venerable B17. Perhaps in the bike boom years Brooks just made them from all the same quality leather and called them B17.

(Time for a REAL Brooks guru to step in and set us all straight.)
