I've been searching for a Frejus Tour de France, for a friend of mine, through contacts in Italy. Recently one of them asked if I wanted the 27.0 or the 27.2 model. I'm completely baffled by the question. At first I thought it referred to frames made with Columbus or Reynolds respectively. But I've had Columbus frames with a 27.2 seatport. Does anyone know what my Italian contact refers to??
Michael Allison in summery, New York, NY Hi Michael: I'm guessing here, but maybe they are asking about SL vs. SP tubing. Typically, Columbus SL frames require a 27.2 post, whereas SP ones require a 27.0 post. Generally, SP will start to appear on frames above 58 cm, but it varies from builder to builder.
