At 0600 today, Ken Sanford, Ben Sanford, Bill Hale and I departed from the DC area for Westminster, arriving in good time and good spirits (Thanks for another great breakfast, Betsy!). The first note is that Robin, the Maestra of the Swap meet, had pretty much all of us in the same area, an area with a good amount of room for stuff. And there were bunches of us. I'm miss many, I'm sure, but Karen Rawls, Billy Rounds, the brothers Granger, Edw. Alpert, Roy Homiski, Chris C, Joel Flood and Curtis Anthony (Via Bicycles), Larry Osborn, Roy Drinkwater, just bunches of us. John Redman (?), up from the Atlanta area. Sam Fitz., of course, with lots of older goodies and prints. Tom Hayes, in from the Cleveland area, with his great smile and encouragement.

And some really nice bikes, not only Ben Sanford's Woodrup. Ed Granger brought bunches of genuine goodies, including a Jack Taylor with lugs and boxwork, a Claud Butler, a ~1958? Lenton Sport (?). Eddie brought a Drysdale and an Andy Himel fixed gear bike that was pretty tired. Lugless, unusual bb liner with the threading, early 50s? with 110 rear. I have a special place in my heart for funk, so it came home with me. I think we all had a fine time. I even came home with more $$ than I went up with - but others took home some nice things from me, too. It was good. Of course, most of what I sold was gone long before the opening bell for the non-vendor types...

I only worry for those who were on the road this afternoon in the East: coming back we had very strong, gusty, winds, and even a few snowflakes. Thanks, Roy H, for suggesting the black armbands for Sheldon's memory.
