Yes, the Westminster swap was fun, like old home week. Saw all the usual suspects. From Harvey's post, I'm sorry I missed Roy Drinkwater, but do hope he's back in circulation.

The Sanford's as usual had the nicest track stuff on earth, but out of my league. Tom Hayes, Larry Osborne and Charlie Young tried to help convince me to part with some cash on a lovely Flying Scot that Ed Granger had up for sale with a nice repaint. Just my size, and Larry was ogling a Jack Taylor road bike also being sold by Ed's brother Duncan. Duncan and Ed had a bunch of really cool bikes, a number of which walked out the door eventually. Tom, Charlie and I all ride the same size bike so it ended up with us each trying to convince the others to spend the money.

Hilary's got that 24-1/2" Scot for sale. Ed's got this really nice Scot on this side of the pond that he plans to bring to Cirque in case anyone's interested. Please buy it right now so I don't force myself to reconsider. ... Really it's not what I'm looking for right now even though it's soooo nice! 58 cm c-c, 23-1/2" c-t, 57.5 c-c top tube, 41-1/2" wheelbase w/ a 24" front center, don't you hate it when it's exactly your size? Contact Ed if you're interested. (I wouldn't say I'm not an interested party, I just have to have someone else buy it out from under me!).

I did buy a couple parts, a lightly shopworn B-17 narrow that I have to break in myself, and an alloy Major Taylor stem because I'd always wanted one, even though it doesn't presently have a home (The parts bins are full of anticipation!).

I'll see a bunch of you at Trexlertown next. Though discussed, their website doesn't post a date yet.

Happy trails,

Dan Artley in Parkton, MD

p.s.: I really enjoyed the photos of the NAHBS, maybe a clunker or two in there, but really fascinating stuff. I loved the show winner, reminded me of reading Easy Riders magazine knowing I'd never own anything like any of them ever, but boy aren't they cool! ... At least I've got some lovely riders that'll never be "trailer queens" (a Pergolizzi quote!).
