I guess that I am from the form follows function school. So "bling" only fo r art has no appeal to me. Perhaps the technical trials that were held in F rance in the 40's would have been more to my liking. Build something better , more suitable than the current norm, then put it to use and prove it. NAH BS seems to be more like a custom car show for some of the Exhibitors.
If any of you happened to see "The Art of the Motorcycle" exhibit, either i n NY or Vegas, I suppose the same could be said there too. I found it very interesting to listen to non motorcyclist in the crowd and here their persp ective regarding what they were seeing. I wonder what percentage of the cro wd in Portland were non (active) cyclist? I suspect not that many.....exclu ding press.
It will be interesting to see if any of the talk regarding some of the buil der not making the trip to Indy next year comes to be.
