I don't know the full history of this bike, but at one time and for many years it was owned by my friend Tec Thomas, owner of Recycled Bicycles in Tallahassee, Florida. It sat unused in the attic of his shop for many years, while I was an employee there. I don't know how it ended up in the hands of its present owner, many miles away from Tallahassee.

I dissassembled my brake calipers totally to clean and polish thinking if I left one assembled I'd be fine. Nope. Are there One or two washers next to the spring? I think there may be the thin one and the one slightly serrated on one side only that are face to face. If so is the thicKer serrated washer the one closer to the spring and which way does the rough or serrated edge face? The Campy Site doesn't show the 1983 SR calipers

The way I remember it is,
   a silver steel first against the spring, then an arm, then the brass one, then the other arm, then the silver steel with the notches on the other most edge, then the 13 mm lock nut, then the 10 mm dome nut. I sez: It's been my understanding is that you can put a British freewheel on an Italian threaded hub, but you can't go back after doing so. The threads are a "Class B Fit" which slightly damages the threads. As long as you don't try to switch back and forth, you should be safe.

This from the DC Craigslist. "1974 Raleigh Pro Mk.IV frame converted to a fixed gear. Serial Number is: WM4011661 (for those of you interested in vintage Raleighs.) Tubes are Reynolds 531 throughout, with Campagnolo dropouts. Bottom bracket has "CC" cut out which I believe means it was made in the Carlton factory.

"Seat tube is 56cm c-to-c. Top Tube is 55.5cm c-to-c.

"When I got the frame the paint was a little rough, and the fork had a problem with the threads. I sent the frame off to a paint shop to have it stripped and primed. I then painted it myself in black, light blue and white. Also used an entire bottle of clearcoat to protect the finish (which has worked a bit). Paint is a bit chipped in places, and there are two minor dings on the seattube near where a front derailleur would go. They don't make any difference and are not noticeable at all."

Anybody out there have a spool of wire suitable for tying spokes? I'm rebuilding a Bianchi Super Pista that came with tied and soldered spokes. I have to rebuild the rear wheel and want to match it to the original build. I

checked the archives which shows DT still offers the wire, but I only need enough to do one wheel so would rather not have to buy a whole spool.

If anybody can supply the material or just offer some advice on the procedure I would appreciate it. I actually remember tying the spokes on my BMX racer in about 1974 but I never soldered them.

Been out of the loop for so long now and don't know if anyone has pointed this one out. Kind of cool with the Munchen decal still on the frame that the riders received when they got to the games. Not much in the archives. Flat tipped seat stays like a Gianni Motta but no socket frame ends. Windowed, but simple lugs that are unusually nicely filed for an Italian bike of this era, yet a seat cluster that looks like it was added by an assistant after the master frame builder went home for some amore. A fleur de lys, or whatever the Italians might call it, is pantographed on the fork crown. Does this suggest early 80s? Seller describes it thus:

"Campagnolo, Ofmega, Universal, Regina, Cineli, TTT, etc. The BB, HS and hubs are all excellent and recently overhauled. ORIGINAL PAINT and CHROME in grand condition! Italian threaded. Nice vintage ride from an little known Italian maker. Columbus tubing. (I am guessing on actual year of manufacture, but I think I am close.) The rims are rare and the logo lovely! Cineli - old logo - stem and bars!"
