>Cupertino, CA Jim: Prices are pretty strong for the 'good stuff' right now, for whatever reasons. It is peak 'project season' right now, for one (for those of us in the snow belt, anyways). I've seen those calipers and levers fetch $1000 in the past. I suspect the $400 set you saw had problems. Usually, the unique and rare center bolts are either missing (replaced by later ones) or are boogered up in some way. I'll agree that $1800 may be strong for this set of parts, based on only those photos, but it's almost a complete bike set up for that price. Add a frameset, headset, (correct) pedals, tires, cables, tape, etc. and that would probably build up into a pretty nice bike (after much cleanup labor), I suspect. Can't tell for sure about the condition of most of those parts due to the so-so photos, but there's an early Brooks Pro, an early Regina GS freewheel, a 1970 NR rear der., etc. in that bunch. I actually missed those calipers when I first saw the listing, so I didn't watch that auction. Now, what really got my attention was when that NOS 151/44 chainring sold for $1001 a while back...!
