If the question evolves around the Pog belonging to the 'Sultan' then it seems to me that there's something else at play here and that is a dislike of this particular mans selling 'style'. I say that because there is a man whom frequents this list and enjoys a very healthy respect here, and his *entire* business is selling parted out classics, and I'm taking 30's through 60s Hetchin's and Holdsworth's and things of that ilk. Should you peruse this mans listings, you'll find nary a full-built bike among the plethora of, admittedly awesome, listings. I've bought from him and I'll bet that most here have as well.

Why this man is celebrated as something of a 'God Send', when that particular Pogliaghi would have met the exact same fate under his tutelage as it did under the 'Sultan's' and the 'Sultan' is vilified for operating in like fashion, it seems to me, has to be 'personal' in nature. It is obviously hypocritical of the list membership to not make mention of the double standard. That said, I try my best to not involve myself in the financial motivations of Sellers and concentrate my energies on what they're offering for sale. It's from that spirit that I'm glad the 'Sultan' offered us all a great opportunity to own that frame for far less than its true value (wish I saw it in time!) and am happy to have had the opportunity to buy mt 40's Holdworth frame+fork, even though I ended up spending over $600 for that privilege alone (Really far more than the frame is worth and I never would've considered buying it as a whole bike for the $2500/3000 it'll cost to build it correctly. I'll build it at my own pace, eventually......)
