Thanks for the responses. To answer a few questions, the bike models
were fully assembled and appeared to be entirely of metal. Each was
in it's own display case and though set back on a counter far enough
that I couldn't get my nose right up to them, they seemed perfectly
scaled and detailed, i.e., the spoke diameters were right on etc.
They were in an otherwise run of the mill dept. store in a nice
neighborhood south of the Zona Rosa. I might not be remembering the
price correctly, but thought at the time that they were really
expensive, but worth it.
I've looked up Protar Models and could only find motorcycles and only
in plastic.
Any more thoughts would be appreciated.
