I am not going to be able to keep this pace up, but I offer for your perusal my second and last (promise!) completed winter project:

1974 Motobecane Team Champion

http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/Peter-Kohler-Cycle-Collection/motobec ane/

This was purchased in December directly from the seller when the eBay auction received no bids. I paid $700 for a complete machine but discounting the non original bits, I really bought a frame/fork, headset, chainset, seatpost, front derailleur and stem. Rest of the machine was completed to catalogue specs.

Not sure how Moto serial numbers work, but this one is 432CS and I wonder if CS doesn't stand for Corse Speciale as these were built separately I believe from their mass production. And the serial nos. are stamped on the front and rear dropouts (chainside).

This is the first Team Champion I've seen on eBay in ages. Although the frame finish is far from perfect, it passes the "5 ft test" which works for me. I've never owned a French bicycle that didn't ride like a dream first time out and this is no exception. I wish I knew what went into the design of a frame to ensure a perfect, almost sinfully good ride but someone at Moto knew their business!

And yes, I am still looking for the de rigeur BIC jersey....
