Subject: [CR]super record brake squeals/chatter

I have a bike that has super record brake calipers. Ambrosio Montreal rims, the brake area is just starting to get worn to the point that the black anodizing is gone...which is fine from what someone told me because these rims have lots of metal there.

I put the bike together and the brakes worked ok, but soon started to feel a little gritty and squeal, the original? shoe inserts were old and petrified I guess.

So while I'm at a shop that has a surprising stock of old parts, I get a set of Saveedra shoe inserts. These are very soft. I thought I'd give them a try.

The squealing and chatter is just horrible. I toed the front arms in pretty aggressively, and it still makes a very high pitched squeal if I get on the brakes hard, but overall it is not so bad. The rear I didn't toe in so much and it was ok but after a ride with a few long fast descents, the rear has started up to chattering again. I could smell the pads :-) a few times.

What shoe inserts can I get that are not so prone to squealing and chattering?
