I have two rather special bicycles on offer to CR members before they go to Ebay and some really quite nice frames that did not sell on Ebay last week but which are offered at special reduced prices for CR members. Hilary Stone, Bristol, England

BIANCHI SLX 50cm CAMPAG CROCE D’AUNE c1989 Offered for sale is a lovely 50cm ctc c1989 Bianchi road bike in very lightly used condition. It must be very close to the top of the Bianchi range with engraved head tube, lots of gorgeous details and built from Columbus SLX tubing. Almost all the kit is Campagnolo Croce D’Aune and it is almost unused - including the CDA Delta brakes (no pedals). The frame has a few small marks and the nearside fork blade has been touched up not very well - this I am sure could easily be improved upon as the fork is black. Top tube length is 52.5cm and rear dropout width 126mm. This is a rare opportunity to buy a really lightly used quality Bianchi. $1295 ono

CARLTON SPECIAL BIKE 22.5in 1977 Offered for sale is a lovely 22.5in ctt 1977 Carlton road bike - the frame was built by one of the framebuilders at Worksop for his own personal use - hence the special lugs and frame number incorporating his initials and the year of build. Top tube length is 22in and rear dropout width 126mm. It is built from Reynolds 531 double butted tubing. It has recently been re-enamelled to a very high standard and is completely equipped with Campagnolo Nuovo Record group which has been barely used. The words one-off and unique rarely apply in truth but are totally true in this case. This is a stunningly beautiful machine in virtually perfect condition - very rare for this type of machine. $1095ono

ARGOS 21in FRAME c1976-7 Light touring/Audax Offered for sale is a lovely 21in ctt c1976-7 Argos frame in very good/condition built with mudguard clearances and with a brake drop of about 54mm with 700C rims. Top tube length is 20.25in and rear dropout width 120mm. It is built from Reynolds 531 double butted tubing. This frame is ideal for light touring or Audax or Sportive rides. It has had one owner from new but now needs a respray which I can arrange if the purchaser wants at Argos. $165

MOSER SPECIAL ROAD FRAME 51cm c1975 Offered for sale is a 51cm ctc c1975 Moser Special road frame in very good condition - this frame was I think built by Cicli Moser relatives of the better known Francesco Moser. Top tube length is 52.5cm and rear dropout width is 124mm. This frame is built from Columbus SL tubing. It has lots of gorgeous details - the slotted dropouts, M cutout in the bottom bracket shell and nicely designed lug cutouts. This is one gorgeous small frame. $245 ono

From the archives: There is a second Moser bike brand in Trento besides Francesco Mosers. This other business started up in 1933 and I think it was a relative, an uncle or something like that who ran the business in the 70s. That´s what I heard from a friend of mine who imported these frames/bikes to Sweden, he had three models; Sprint (Zeta tubing), an Aelle model and Special (SL tubing). There were also a Pista model and a cyclo-cross model. I had a Special myself and they were very nice riding bikes with many similarities to Pinarellos of the same period. They are obviously still in business as can be seen here http://www.mosercicli.it/

PAGANINI ROAD FRAME 58cm c1983 Offered for sale is a 58cm ctc c1983 Paganini road frame in very good condition. Top tube length is 58cm and rear dropout width is 124mm. Paganini are despite the name a Belgian bike brand (there are some more details in the archives) but many of their frames are built in Italy - this one has Italian bottom bracket threads making it highly likely that it is Italian built. It has has many lovely details including the P cutout in the bottom bracket shell, gear cable inside the chainstay and clean lug cutouts - BUT a previous owner has milled both ends of the head tube in order to use a fork with a short steerer - please see the pictures. This milling has been accurately and carefully done and will not affect the frame’s performance in my opinion. As a result only $110. PEUGEOT PLX10 ROAD FRAME 56cm c1958-9 Simplex 543 Offered for sale is a 56cm ctc c1958-9 Peugeot road frame in very sound condition; it is thought to be a PLX10 from c1958-9 - though possibly it might be the PX10 model from 1959. It has the chainstay twin cable braze-on for the Simplex 543/Juy Record rear gear and Simplex dropouts with mount for the gear. Top tube length is 56.5cm and rear dropout width is 120mm. This frame is built from metric Reynolds 531 DB tubing. It has been poorly painted with spray can but appears to be really quite sound including the chrome. Early Peugeot road frames such as this are really rather rare. Take a look at Jack Bissell’s very similar machine at http://www.43bikes.com/peugeot-plx10.html $295 ono Pictures can be seen at: http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Peugeot-PX10-early.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Peugeot-PX10-early-dets.jpg

I can accept payments by Paypal but after a couple of bad experiences last year insurance is compulsory costing 3% if paying by Paypal. Shipping on the bikes: Shipping to the USA uninsured will be $155, to Japan and Australia $200 and within the UK it will be 20 GBP.
